David Bowie - Station To Station
Originally released 23rd January 1976, Station To Station was David Bowieâs tenth studio album. To celebrate its 45th anniversary Parlophone is proud to announce a special limited edition âbricks & mortarâ only red & white vinyl pressing of the album. 45 years on from its release Station To Station is now seen as a musical bridge between the plastic soulâ of 1975âs Young Americans and the experimental beginning of Bowieâs Berlin era that was 1977âs âLow. The albumâs first single Golden Yearsâ was a hit on both sides of the Atlantic and one of five singles released from the six-song album (though the title track was only released on 45 in France and âStayâ was a single exclusively in the USA). DAVID BOWIE STATION TO STATION 45th ANNIVERSARY RED / WHITE VINYL ALBUMSÂ
CD
After the success of the dance hits Fame and Young Americans (both off 1975's Young Americans), Bowie seemed to step back, ponder the future of rock, and then turn up the guitars and the art-rock sensibilities and make a completely engaging and evocative album. From the epic title track (introducing the Thin White Duke character and building into an incendiary rocker) to the irresistible Golden Years (another dance hit) and on to the physically wrenching and funk-drenched Stay, the soul of David Bowie is pretty much meshed into every track. The playful TVC15 takes the listener on a bumpy ride into unholy tech-love, and the gorgeous Wild is the Wind.
